A Postcard from our 3-hour Express Vacation

Posted on August 21, 2013 by Niko Downie

Don't get us wrong, we're super jazzed about our new Fall collections which are arriving in store thick and fast, but we haven't quite given up on summer yet, so early this morning we treated ourselves to a 3-hour bicycle vacation in the east end of Toronto.  Working around our hectic professional and social lives to find any time to leave the city can be impossible, so we packed some serious fun into a 3-hour express holiday, leaving at the crack of dawn and arriving back in Parkdale in time for another busy day at Elevator.  Try it, you'll like it.

Check out our postcards from the trip.  Wish you were there...

Clockwise from top left: Lifeguard station in Beaches Park; appropriate signage; the vacation-mobile; coffee pit stop at Voulez-Vous Cafe

Clockwise from top left: Boardwalk along the beach; Ashridges Bay Pumping Station (yep, that's right - that gorgeous building is a pumping station); hobbit tunnel to the beach; view of Queen St. East

And of course, we made sure we packed some vacation essentials: Il Bussetto Coin Wallet for our coffee change, Etnia sunnies with polarized frames to reduce glare from the glistening lake and a WILL Leather Goods Lennon backpack with travel pillow for a quick recline in the sun.

We're already planning our next express vacation.  Look out for more postcards from our travels.
